ELIGE MADERA Sustainable Development Without Limits In an era where there are no limits to imagination, building large and intelligent projects that converge with spaces in a sustainable manner is already a reality that is revolutionizing the development industry. In an era where there are no limits to imagination, building large and intelligent projects that converge with spaces in a sustainable manner is already a reality that is revolutionizing the development industry. Canada's Earth Tower will be considered a milestone, aiming to be an example of a sustainable development for cities. The 40-story hybrid wood construction will make the tower the tallest of its kind in the world, while also reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through carbon recovery. The timber used in the construction is mass-produced locally, from sustainably managed forests. The project is focused on achieving zero emissions, as part of the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) pilot program, creating a new perception of the market and encouraging the industry to opt for sustainable development when considering the environmental implications of construction. The firm Perkins&Will took this challenge as a project with no limitations. In the words of Delta Land Development president Bruce Langereis, “I want Perkins&Will to reach around the corner and create something on this site that is the best response known to man for climate change and buildings.” Earth Tower will be a place that integrates community and nature in an environment that promotes cohabitation, biodiversity restoration, and sustainable development.
