First of all, do you have any idea how long people have been using mouldings? Their origin dates back to Egyptian culture; back then, after the conquest of Alexander the Great, they spread to Indian and Chinese architecture, but it wasn’t until the 18th century that this authentic decorative element would arrive in France and fill the rooms of the high bourgeoisie of southern Europe. The good thing is that this decorative solution didn’t remain only in Asia or Europe, so today we can enjoy its use all over the world. Therefore, if what you want is to give your area style and personality but also a cozy, minimalist and detailed touch that enhances your spaces - with Selex Mouldings, you’ll achieve it perfectly. Here, we’ll show you three types of profiles. BASE The solid Base moulding, like all our mouldings, is made of sawn Radiata Pine timber with finger joint unions, giving it great dimensional stability. Its uses are varied, though it is exclusively designed to be used in base mouldings or for decorative finishes. CROWN On the other hand, Crown moulding has a more sophisticated and elegant appearance, usually used for spaces with higher ceilings to decorate the top of the walls, though it also stands out very well with lower ceilings. CASING Solid Casing mouldings, on the other hand, are commonly used on window frames, doors or cornices and, like Base and Crown mouldings, also serve as decorative finishes. This is a unique benefit of our mouldings: they are all very versatile and can be tried and tested in a variety of locations. It should be noted that all our mouldings are manufactured to the highest quality, providing great dimensional stability and versatility. They’re also resistant to moisture and other corrosive agents, so don't worry! You’ll have no issues using them outdoors. To see the types of mouldings we have, click here.
